Community Presentations

Child Guidance Center employs over 150 professionals with experience of providing mental health and social services to children and their families.  We share that combined expertise to the community through presentations.  Contact us today to schedule a presentation for your civic group, church or employer at the location of your choice.  Below is a list of presentations available upon request:

  • Overview of Child Guidance Center -

This presentation provides a brief description of each CGC service and how these services help children and their families.

  • Foster Care and the New Family Case Work Services Team

On July 1, 2003, CGC began providing case work services to children and their families involved with the Department of Children and Family Services.  These children are often removed from their homes, residing in foster homes due to concerns of abuse and/or neglect.  This presentation provides an overview of the goals of the program and the stories of the children and families we serve.

  • Parenting Practices that Promote Good Child Development

Whether you think it’s easier or tougher for children today than it was when you were a kid, we all agree on one thing…it’s different!  Pressures of standardized testing, internet accessibility and terrorism are now common in the lives of our child.  This presentation focuses on practical parenting practices for today’s parent.

Don’t see the topic you were looking for?  Child Guidance has the combined expertise of more professionals in children’s mental health than any other single entity in Northeast Florida.  If it involves children’s issues, it is very likely we will have a professional with expertise on your topic of interest.

Call 448-4700 ext. 112 for additional information or to arrange any of the above presentations.
