LEAP (Learning, Educating, Advocating and Preparing)

This program assists individuals ages 14-22 who are foster care or former foster care participants to achieve financial literacy including budgeting, banking and saving activities. Participants are helped to increase their matched savings in the Opportunity Passport program underwritten by the Jim Casey Youth Opportunities Initiative and administered by the United Way of Northeast Florida.

Program Objectives

  • To deliver life skill training, asset-specific education through individual case management services.
  • To ensure enrollees stay on target to meet their goals and achieve financial literacy.
  • To encourage foster youth to become financially successful by beginning a life-long habit of saving.
  • To provide financial support through matched savings for specific goals.
