CURRENT VACANCIES President/CEO Child Guidance Center, Inc. is the largest provider of children’s outpatient and community-based behavioral health services in Northeast Florida. For more than 58 years, the agency has specialized in helping children, adolescents and their families cope with the stresses of life. Child Guidance Center is a private nonprofit agency that has been CARF accredited since 1998. Child Guidance Center is seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to foster a culture of integrity, accountability and performance excellence, one who can inspire optimum achievement of staff, carry out strategic vision, ensure operational ethics and drive fiscal responsibility. Strategic objectives include providing direction and management in all aspects of operational performance, including finance and direct services, contract fulfillment, team functionality, quality assurance, agency advocacy, and compliance at the federal, state and local levels. The President/CEO establishes and directs the integrated management of all functions of the agency consistent with the policies and direction set by the Board of Directors. Qualifications include a Doctorate in the Human Services field, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related discipline, with at least eight years of progressively responsible experience planning, budgeting, and supervising, preferably within a mental health, social services, or related healthcare system. The successful candidate must demonstrate the highest personal and professional integrity, possess sound judgment, and have excellent interpersonal skills. Targeted Case Manager The Targeted Case Manager works closely with children who are seriously emotionally disturbed and with their families, to link them with an array of services. He or she monitors the service delivery to ensure its appropriateness and advocates on behalf of the client in order to maintain the child in the least restrictive setting. The Targeted Case Manager is responsible for the formulation, review, and implementation of an individualized and creative service plan to assure a high-level of quality care. The services focus on improving the child’s functioning in relation to the family, community, and educational environments. Monitoring may also include residential facility environments. In order to do this job, a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in the field of psychology, social work, or related human services field is required, in addition to at least one year’s previous experience working with emotionally disturbed children. ASL proficiency preferred. Moderate computer skills are required, such as inputting at least 35 cwpm and familiarity with spread sheets and Microsoft Outlook. Reliable transportation with liability insurance, a FL driver’s license and good driving record are also required. Therapists Current openings include position at our West side, Arlington and South Duval outpatient offices. We will consider both FL licensed and license-eligible applicants for the openings. In addition to being client-centered and compassionate, Child Guidance Center Therapists provide high quality therapeutic counseling services to clients and their families. Maintaining complete and accurate up-to-date charts is an important part of the job, along with meeting the team’s established performance criteria. Children and their families are treated with dignity and respect. As appropriate, they are included in the development of treatment plans. A Master’s degree from a FL license-eligible program that allows the Therapist to register as an intern in the social work, therapeutic mental health counseling or marriage and family therapy disciplines is the minimum qualification. Due to the often complicated symptoms clients present, previous experience providing therapeutic services to children and/or families and developing treatment plans based on DSM- IV diagnoses is required. Bi-lingual Spanish-English language skills are preferred. Clinical Supervisor Child Guidance Center has an immediate vacancy for a Clinical Supervisor with ties to the North Jacksonville community, to provide on-site day-to-day supervision to this neighborhood outpatient team and worksite. Strong leadership and sound clinical skills are valued competencies for this important position. The Clinical Supervisor ensures that quality clinical services, efficient business practices and engaged customer services are delivered and maintained. In addition, the Clinical Supervisor provides high quality therapeutic counseling services to a reasonable number or clients and their families, engaging them in the therapy process. Assisting the Program Director in meeting the team’s annual budgetary goal by providing oversight, motivation and supervision to staff is another important responsibility and is key to the team’s success. Ensuring that performance standards are met or exceeded is another important responsibility. A current FL LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT plus at least two years of post-licensed experience providing therapeutic services to children and/or families and developing treatment plans based on DSM- IV diagnoses is required. Additionally, previous experience supervising staff is needed. Moderate computer skills are required, such as inputting at least 35 cwpm and familiarity with spread sheets and Microsoft Outlook.
