The Home Depot & Navy Project

Naval Station Volunteers Erect Fence Nearly Two Football Fields in Length in a Single Day.

Replaces Fence Badly Damaged by Summer Hurricanes with Materials Donated by The Home Depot.

Special thanks to a group of Mayport Naval Base Military personnel who volunteered their time on October 13, 2004, to reconstruct a privacy fence that was partly destroyed during the hurricanes this past summer.  This fence provides safety to the children and families that come to our clinic for services.  The project involved 27 volunteers to erect the almost 200 yards of fence.  Twelve of the volunteers were from the USS AUSTIN LPD-4, a visiting ship that is home ported in Norfolk, Virginia.  Also, special thanks to Home Depot who provided $2,790 in materials for this project and also had volunteers on site.

Child Guidance Center would also like to thank Andy, Manager of Quiznos on Beach and University Boulevard, who provided hearty subs at cost for our volunteers.

Special Thanks to Our Navy Volunteers
