    Our Services

Our Staff of trained professionals are here to help you and your child assess the situation and select the most appropriate treatment available.

    Child Guidance Center services include:

    Jacksonville Journey
The Jacksonville Journey is working to create a roadmap for achieving peace and prosperity in every home, on every street, for every citizen.

    Outpatient Services
Behavioral Health Assessment, Individual, Group and Family Therapy are provided at five outpatient offices.

    Community Family Services
Therapy is provided in home and school settings.

    School Based Treatment
Child Guidance Center provides specialized services to the Excel Program (EBD) in Jacksonville's schools.

    Full Service Schools
Behavioral Health services are provided through seven Full Service Schools and their feeder schools.

    Medical Services
Child Guidance Center provides psychiatric (medical) management of clients served by each program.

    Case Management
Child Guidance Center provides case management services for children and adolescents who have more serious emotional problems.

    Rapid Response Team
The Rapid Response Team intervenes during critical and emotionally taxing periods in children’s lives, during which the children present a danger to themselves and/or to others with the intent to avoid a Baker Act.

Supervised Visitation and Parent Education Services
Visitation services are provided to children placed in protective custody by the court due to abuse or neglect so they can have supervised time with their parents, siblings and other relations in a safe and nurturing environment. The goal of this service is to assist with reunification and strengthening of the family unit.

Parent Education is provided to parents who have a referral from the court or a child welfare agency.

    Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Services
Child Guidance Center FASD staff assess children receiving other services from CGC who may have some disorder along the fetal alcohol spectrum. A positive assessment leads to referrals to a geneticist, occupational therapist, speech therapist (if needed), and psychologist (if needed). Training is provided with the goal of preventing fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, and providing effective interventions for those children who are diagnosed with an FASD.
